Making sure that my select dryer is operating to peak performance, by watching the temperature of the dryer, the speed and making sure all the veneer goes into the bins correctly. Managing people and making schedules for the week or the day, an other task I would do as a dryer tender is writing up reports for the day. Other task I would do as a dryer tender is make sure the mill is clean and to make sure that all of the machines were working properly and if there was a problem then I would figure it out, training is also a big part of the job it is was my responsibility to make sure that everybody knew what they were doing and how to do it safely.
