As a student pursuing a Chemistry Degree to further their journey into the medical and research field, I have fostered a deep appreciation and understanding for the skills needed to flourish in an environment that relies on scientific knowledge - and have continued to perfect these skills.
Ever since I was a child, I have been around hospital workers as both a patient and visitor- and I was fascinated by the work ethic and skill set they maintained and the selflessness they had for others in displaying incredible amount of knowledge and patience through slight gestures and answering any possible question I could come up with.
To emulate those workers I admired, I have aspired to increase the knowledge and skills I have by both taking a variety of science based classes, studying under a professors as a research assistant, but also working within labs as an assistant and getting practical field experience as an EMT.
I have also acted as a teaching assistant for a science driven program - where I applied both teaching and leadership skills to help students complete scientific laboratories.
I truly believe that, as a well-versed chemistry major with applicable experience both in a lab and on the field as an EMT, I have a skillset that is strong and would shine as a medical research graduate student. Having both been a part and served the community, the chance to further my career into medicine through rigorous training and living a life where my skills are tested would be indispensable.
