Enthusiastic Fire Safety Specialist eager to contribute to the team's success through hard work, attention to detail and improving customer satisfaction. Motivated to learn, grow and excel in the position of Fire Safety Supervisor. I have continued my education taking several non required courses on my own time to familiarize myself in Fire Science and assist in my job duties and knowledge. I have shadowed my supervisor as much as possible in order to obtain the skills necessary for the position. I find networking to be highly important and have built many valuable relationships who have developed into important resources.
My dedication and loyalty to Riverside County is evident in my work history; previously working as a resourceful Fire Systems Inspector, preceded by an experienced Certified Code Enforcement Officer for 13 years and prior to that a seasoned Section 8 low income housing Inspector for 13 years. Challenges over the years have helped me excel in adaptability and working under pressure.
As a Code Enforcement Officer one of the areas I enforced was Title 14 under Waste Tire Laws which included Fire Prevention Inspections. I dealt with conflict on a daily basis due to the nature of the position and excelled in communicating with the public in a positive manner in difficult situations. I wrote comprehensive reports supporting abatement activity in preparation for legal proceedings. I used time management skills to organize a large caseload and covered a vast area of Riverside County while on patrol duty.
I am excited to grow in the Fire Department and thoroughly enjoy working alongside my professionals colleagues while learning from each other's unique experiences. Some of my goals include continuous self development, sharpening my skills and helping those newer than myself. For me, a promotion would mean I would be allowed to move forward and contribute to the Department's goals by offering my new knowledge and skills to the team while working towards becoming an expert in this field. I am a loyal and reliable employee who will get the job done.
