My experience as a classroom teacher has ignited a deep passion and commitment to three core goals: fostering inclusive learning environments for students from diverse backgrounds, maximizing student achievement, and nurturing student engagement and growth. I believe that all students can and want to learn, and that learning becomes most meaningful when instruction is intentional, accessible, and responsive.
Over the years, I’ve developed a teaching approach centered on active engagement and relationship-building. I design a wide range of learning experiences that not only connect to students’ backgrounds and interests, but also challenge them to explore new ideas and develop essential skills. These experiences help foster peer collaboration, build student confidence, and promote both academic and social development.
My background includes working with students in both General and Special Education settings. For the last 8 years, I supported students in the the classroom in a variety of ELA areas, including on-level, gifted and talented, honors, AP, and resource. I’ve continued to serve learners with varying strengths, needs, and learning styles. This range of experience has allowed me to diversify my instructional practices and adapt my approach to meet the needs of all students.
In my classroom, I implement consistent and collaborative classroom management strategies, blending techniques I’ve learned from mentor teachers with my own proactive approach. My goal has always been to create a space where students feel safe, supported, and empowered to participate and take ownership of their learning.
As much as I teach, I also learn—from my students, my colleagues, and through reflection. My students have taught me that connection matters, that every learner is unique, and that effective teaching begins with listening and understanding.
As I transition toward a leadership role in education, I am excited about the opportunity to serve as an instructional coach. I look forward to supporting teachers, facilitating professional learning, and collaborating to create classroom environments that are equitable, engaging, and student-centered. I am inspired by the words of Benjamin Franklin: “Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn.” This philosophy continues to guide my work, not only with students, but also with fellow educators.
