I've always been a good people person when it comes to the construction field, and that's the most important thing because without communication nothing can be achieved. I've been in the electrical field since 2003 and have seen many projects come and go and have traveled this great country doing electrical and instrumentation.
Supervised a crew fabricating, and installing cable tray in the OSBL areas at the Sasol Project. Read Iso's for precise measurements on installations of supports and cable trays.
Worked at a Praxair plant with new construction doing all the underground pipe and duct banks. Had to read drawing and coordinates for stub ups on duct banks and fabricated supports for pvc pipes. Worked in trenches, fabricated, heated, installed pvc as needed and tied down pipe for underground runs.
Worked at A pharmaceutical plant doing commercial work, installing receptacles, lighting, motion sensors, fire alarms, etc. Also fabricated and installed cable tray, conduit, supports, and setup equipment ground for gears that were flown into the buildings. Pulled cable and terminated communication and low voltage for PLC's, also worked on high voltage for transformers. Left that job due to a family member becoming gravely ill, had to be closer to home.
Worked on a Turnaround for the Phillips 66 plant, Mostly did temporary power for the MCC buildings. Hooked up disconnects for generators which supplied power for equipment in the Field, Did work on buckets and High voltage transformers. I was there till the end and was layed off once we were done, with the small shutdown.
Worked as an electrical foreman for fabricating and installing supports, conduit runs, cable tray, electric heat tracing on pipelines, grounding, j-boxes and cabinets for power and instruments. Ran a crew for pulling wire to power and instruments to heat tracing splice boxes and control panels. Fabricated specific electrical component parts and assemblies. Interpreted drawings, wiring diagrams, flow charts and written descriptions of the project requirements. Worked with various types of cableways, conduits and other electrical raceways. Updated service record files on equipment drawings and history. Worked on Transformers supplying power to the Heat trace panels for proper and efficient use of tracing. Worked extended hours on weekday and weekend projects. Consulted with the supervisor electrician regarding the likely risks associated with the assigned job. Demonstrated expertise in the use of cable reels, stripping tools, voltage detectors, crimping tools and wire and cable cutters. Maintained a working area that was clean, safe and stocked with appropriate equipment and supplies.
Worked as a foreman on the Marathon oil and gas drilling pads in many different locations south of San Antonio. I ran a crew and we fabricated and installed supports, cable tray, lighting, receptacles, grounding, j-boxes and cabinets for power and instruments. Ran a crew for pulling CLX wire to power and control power on motors, lighting panels, start stops , receptacles, lighting. We also pulled wire for instruments on the drill sites and installed the instruments needed for certain equipment. Had to do work on electrical gears and buckets in the substations including pulling all the high voltage feeders for the transformers and motors.
