Extra-Curricular Activities

Latino Academy, 2015 - 2017 and August 2019

Latino Academy is an organization that supplies the Hispanic community with all the essential tools needed to Learn English. My daily tasks here would involve helping clients with their English by helping them with pronunciation/grammar. Besides that I would man the phones and help clients get enrolled in Latino Academy's program. I had the opportunity to volunteer here because my family is close friends with the Co-Founder and Executive Director, Baltazar De Anda Santana. I admire this man for all the good he has done for the Hispanic community and hope one day I'll achieve something great like him.

Breakfast for the Homeless, Bethel Lutheran Church, March 2013 - November 2014

This event was held by Bethel Lutheran Church, to help the general public in the area get a proper meal. My tasks here would include preparing meals and sealing them to keep them fresh. I would also help with lifting the supplies that would be needed for the for assortment of food we would prepare. And ultimately, serve the people that would line up and greet them with a smile. I would volunteer here with my parents and looking back I'm very grateful I had the opportunity to help bring some joy into the lives of people who have less.
