- Simulated energy scenarios for three large hydro power plants (60% Venezuelan power capacity) in for Venezuelan Electric system, by analyzing different hydrology, energy demand, and operation schemes.
- Proposed new operating schemes for increasing efficiency and reducing the water output flow in hydro power plants. 1.2% saving reached, equal 50.000 oil barrel per day using Dynamic Programming and Generic Algorithms.
- Developed software for simulating hydro power plants operation in the Caroni River basin (14.000 MW total capacity). Application currently used for simulating energy future scenarios of Venezuela electric system.
- Performed reliability analysis of electrical power system by simulating fails in generation units using Monte Carlo Simulation. System weakness discovered and analyzed.
- Collaborated in an action plan for minimizing risks of climate phenomenon "El Niño" on the Venezuelan electrical system. 10% reduction of national energy demand achieved.
- Tuned setup parameters of Automatic Generation Control (AGC) on Regional SCADA system, for improving electrical frequency regulation in the Venezuelan Electric System. Bias and AGC parameters tuned.
- Collaborated successfully with cross-functional development teams to implement ISO 9001 quality standard in the "Power Transmission operating" process. Operating processes documented and spread along the department.
