Lukas Lane

Summary

Lukas Lane is a New York/Los Angeles based writer and filmmaker. He is a founding member of Literary Riot Media Company (LA), where he has worked for five + years, creating viral, award-winning content as a writer, director, and producer for multiple companies, including the Ford Motor Company, Wondros, March For Our Lives, Toms, Archewell, and VANS. In addition, Lukas has produced a number of short films, webisodes, and theatrical productions. His most recent short, Hecklers, was bought for distribution by Cranked Up Films. In 2019, he was a co-writer on Oscar nominated director, Carlos López Estrada's feature film Summertime, which opened Sundance 2020 and was released theatrically. He also worked as Summertime's behind-the-scenes doc producer. At UC Berkeley, Lukas wrote and directed multiple theatrical productions for Barestage Productions.

Adapted from a children's book series from the UK.


Ben and Tiffany aren’t sure what to expect when they enroll in Mrs. Powell’s strange gym class. What they find is pashki, a lost art that will give them extraordinary cat-like powers. However, when a sinister plot is uncovered and their mentor is taken, the kids come face to face with the underside of their powers and must decide how far they will go to test their newfound strength.

Antikraak (2023)

Fugitive finance duo Simon and Geraldo, on the run from an international manhunt, seek refuge with enigmatic Saskia at Antikraak. Inside the walls, their fear of capture turns into a surreal descent as they grapple with sanity, designer drugs, and an otherworldly connection to this peculiar space. Trapped in a mysterious limbo, they question if it's purgatory, a time loop, or something even more sinister. Performed at the Choral Rehearsal Hall at UC Berkeley.

The lives of a skating guitarist, two aspiring rappers, a fast-food worker and others intersect over the course of a hot summer day in Los Angeles. Directed by Carlos López-Estrada (Premiered at Sundance 1/23/20).

Benkei's Revenge (In Development)

Adapted from the unpublished manuscript by Michael R. Zomber. Seven teens from around the world are propelled into an epic cyberpunk odyssey, where a mysterious Samurai trains them for a monumental battle in the uncharted realms of cyberspace. Brace for a thrilling collision of ancient martial arts, cutting-edge technology, and global camaraderie, as these teens navigate a digital landscape teeming with suspense, self-discovery, and the fate of an entire virtual world hanging in the balance.
