Bass Guitarist
I participated in my high school's pit orchestra for the last theatrical performance of my high school career. We prepared and performed the musical "Grease". I played the electric bass guitar.

I want to pursue a major in Music Performance on the Double Bass. I began playing the double bass when I was nine. For the past six years, I have been a member of the Greater Twin Cities Youth Symphonies and I am currently the principal bassist of the top orchestra, Symphony. I also participated in the Minnesota All-State Orchestra, and numerous other ensembles at my high school. I take private lessons with Irving Steinberg, and have done so for the past five years. Below, I have listed recent etudes, exercises, and solo repertoire that I have prepared and studied with Mr. Steinberg.
Etudes and Exercises:
- Franz Simandl, New Method for the Double Bass, Vol. I & II
- Stuart Sankey, Orchestral Excerpts from the Symphonic Repertoire, Vol. V, VI, VII, & IX
- 30 Etudes for String Bass, Franz Simandl
- Various Scale Warm-ups (2 & 3 octaves)
Solo Repertoire:
- Concerto No. 2, Giovanni Bottesini
- Concerto for Double Bass in D-major, Johann Baptist Vanhal
- Konzert in E-Dur, Karl Ditters von Dittersdorf
- Chanson Triste, Serge Koussevitzky
- Valse Miniature, Serge Koussevitzky
- D. Dragonetti Concerto
- Sonata in G-minor for Double Bass, Henry Eccles
I participated in my high school's pit orchestra for the last theatrical performance of my high school career. We prepared and performed the musical "Grease". I played the electric bass guitar.
I have been involved in Jazz Band since freshman year of high school. There, I bettered my improvisation skills and contributed to the combo groups formed within the band. I played acoustic bass and electric bass guitar.
I auditioned for the East Ridge High School Advanced Orchestra and got in my freshman year. I participated in the orchestra all four years of high school.
I began playing with the Greater Twin Cities Youth Symphonies (GTCYS) when I was in 7th grade. Since then, I have participated in five of the ten orchestras in the program. Today, I am principal bassist of the Symphony Orchestra, the most advanced group in the program. Some of our current and past repertoire include: Shostakovitch Symphony No. 5, Tchaikovsky Symphony No. 4, Brahms Symphony No. 2, Mahler Symphony No. 1, Hanson Symphony No. 2 (The Romantic Symphony), and Holst "The Planets" (Mars and Jupiter).
I participated in the Minnesota All-State Orchestra for the 2020-2021 season. As this was all online, it was a difficult task, however, we managed to pull it off. We recorded our parts and editors pieced it together to create a completely virtual performance of Howard Hanson's "Romantic" Symphony No. 2 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
I auditioned for the Humboldt University of Berlin Student Orchestra while studying abroad for my junior year of high school. I got in, and played among students that attended this university. Some of the repertoire we played included: Brahms: A German Requiem and Wagner's "Tristan Vorspiel und Liebestod". These pieces were both accompanied by vocalists, so that was a new and fascinating experience.
I was hand selected by my orchestra director to play in this honors orchestra. I only was able to participate for two seasons because I studied abroad during my junior year and it was postponed during my senior year due to the ongoing pandemic. We played Beethoven Symphony No. 9.
