4-H Grand Champion Breeding Project

In the early spring of 2019, I purchased my breeding buck from a reputable rabbit breeder in Buhl, Idaho. He was a beautiful, solid-white Rex rabbit, and from the beginning, I put a lot of time and effort into raising, caring for, and preparing him for showing. I made sure he received proper nutrition, regular handling, grooming, and overall care to keep him healthy and in excellent show condition.

I showed him at the Gooding County Fair, where all of my hard work and preparation paid off when he earned the title of Grand Champion Breeding Buck. This was a very rewarding accomplishment for me because it reflected the time, responsibility, and dedication I had put into raising and showing him.

After his success in the show ring, he became an important part of my rabbit breeding program. Throughout his time as a breeding buck, he went on to sire more than 12 litters of rabbits, passing on his Rex characteristics and genetics to many offspring.

Raising him from the spring of 2019, showing him successfully at the Gooding County Fair, earning the Grand Champion title, and later using him as a successful breeding buck gave me valuable hands-on experience with rabbit care, breeding, genetics, animal health, and showmanship.
