09.2022 - Current
  • Ongoing member of the Silicon Valley chapter of the Young Catholic Professional's network

Dean's Student Advisory Council

Santa Clara University
09.2021 - 06.2022
  • Daniel Press, Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences at Santa Clara University, desired the opinion and insight of the students in his new role of academic dean
  • Dean Press was formerly a full-time professor who appreciated conversations with his students, and wishing this type of interaction could continue, he created a Dean's Student Advisory Council
  • The ten member council represents the students in the College of Arts and Sciences, which is the majority of the undergraduate student body
  • My responsibility as part of this council included keeping a pulse of the student body in order to give sound advice, thinking creatively to address issues the student body faced and to improve the student academic experience, and working collaboratively with Dean Press on current events on campus.

Peer Educator (Teaching Assistant)

Santa Clara University
09.2020 - 06.2022
  • I was thankful to have the role of Peer Educator (PE) in supporting the learning and teaching process for a first-year "Cultures and Ideas" SCU two quarter sequence course on Human Rights and Humanitarianism from the Anthropology Department, taught by Dr. Mythri Jegathesan. The Peer Educator role is SCU's version of the traditional Teacher Assistant (TA) role for its undergraduate classes, with the PE acting as a student teacher who is not a grader. As Peer Educator I was the bridge between the students and the professor, which included helping students with class material and assignments, holding my own office hours, and giving insight into the course as I had already taken it. I was PE for Fall Quarter 2020 and Winter Quarter 2021 and I am very grateful for Dr. Jegathesan for this opportunity.
  • I was also the Peer Educator for Dr. Jim McKenna's Anthropology 137 Evolutionary Medicine course during Spring Quarter 2022. I worked closely with Dr. McKenna throughout the quarter, including meeting before class to discuss how we feel the course is progressing and to make changes accordingly (such as to lesson plans and major assignments). Dr. McKenna and I worked collaboratively to create the midterm exam, and many of the questions I created were on the exam. I am very grateful of this opportunity Dr. McKenna gave me and how he included me so heavily in much of the learning, teaching, and course design process. I learned so much from him and from this experience.

President and Founder

SCU Vibes
10.2019 - 06.2022
  • SCU Vibes is a student organization at Santa Clara University that focuses on sense of belonging as a Santa Clara student, our campus culture, and awareness of how people treat each other. SCU Vibes zooms in to focus on students’ daily interactions in order to be able to zoom out and see the improvement of the big picture dynamic of student life.
  • Our mission statement is the following: We want to cultivate a strong sense of belonging as a Santa Clara student, a unified and connected campus community, pride in being a Santa Clara student, and a supportive, kind, and positive atmosphere. We want to build on and promote what makes student life at Santa Clara so special. We want people to walk around campus and feel like they care about each other.
  • Rather than a niche club, SCU Vibes is a cultural movement towards awareness of how people treat each other. A member only needs to be cognizant of the growing desire for care amongst the student body and for the strengthening of the core identity of a Santa Clara student.
  • SCU Vibes will be hosting events such as speaker series, with an emphasis on bringing in alumni speakers. We hope for alumni speakers to share with the student body the tradition, pride, and amazing history of student life we have at SCU, and to foster the feeling of camaraderie that spans generations of Broncos.

  • My intention in doing this was to do as much as I could to improve the student culture of Santa Clara University
  • I was Co-Recruitment Chair from December 2020 through December 2021. During this time I made every effort I could to make the recruitment process more visible and known to the student body, in addition to identifying and recruiting young SCU men with the character and leadership ability to become a member of our chapter and help it grow.

  • I was trained in children's behavior from the perspective of learning and children's executive functioning processes

Founder and Coach

Paulson Summer Sports Camp
06.2014 - 08.2018
  • I founded Paulson Summer Sports Camp which hosts 10-15 children for about one week each summer. I started this camp because growing up, I always appreciated when older children would help me and accept me when I was playing basketball, and I wanted to be able to give back to my community.
  • It is a family oriented business, with many of the campers having their siblings participate with them. My responsibility consists of implementing our mission statement, as well as our day to day strategy and our long-term strategy. Additionally, I have built the camp to have an emphasis on positivity, working hard but enjoying the process, and having a well rounded balance in life.
  • My goal is for the campers to not only improve their skills and agility, but also to have the confidence and the mentality that they can achieve whatever hope they have in life, not just in sports.
  • I coach basketball and my sisters coach soccer, but the drills during the sessions are not what we hope the ultimate take-away will be for campers. We have the mindset that we are building something bigger - and hope the campers see and understand the benefits of leading healthy, balanced lives.
