I'm somebody who loves to meet new people, hold conversations, and am just very outgoing in general. I'm great at customer service, public speaking, and have gained valuable traits like problem solving and teamwork skills over the course of my various careers. My time writing for The Maneater has made me ten times the writer I was before college, learning all the ins-and-outs of AP style, how to write leads, what newsworthy vs what's not. I aim to be a sports reporter someday but reporting for anybody will be good enough for me until then. I am a giant basketball nerd who is obsessed with analytics, mock drafts, watching the sport and writing about it. It's hard for me to imagine a better time then watching a basketball game with a couple of buddies.
I covered various local sports programs such as the Kansas City Chiefs, the St.Louis Cardinals and the University of Missouri's tennis team for The University of Missouri's student led newsletter. Had the privilege of attending matches, conducting interviews, and providing insight and commentary on various athletics.
I spent my first few months mainly operating on the cash register where I gained experience in customer service, problem solving skills, and making extremely well-versed in operating a register. After I became comfortable enough operating on my own I transitioned over to the floor where I would stock shelves, unload trucks, help customers find items in the store, and decorate/set up displays. This job has provided me with immense experience in customer service, and has made me into a very outgoing, friendly, and open minded person.
I spent my junior year summer in a 75 degrees warehouse surrounding by people well over twice my age who didn't speak a lick of english. I learned more that summer than any other stretch of my life. I worked as the associate who would check used textbooks into MBS's online database where I would tag them, scan them, then put them on a conveyer belt. I did that all day, every day. I was met with various obstacles whether it be communication issues with my coworkers due to language barriers, miscounts on inventory, or spending hours upon hours trying to find a textbook that either did not exist or was hiding in the bottom of an old box we received months prior. This job harnessed my skills as a critical thinker, problem solver, and as an overall communicator.
Managed to cover the Mizzou women's tennis team throughout the spring, going to matches and interviewing players and coaches. Wrote various articles for the Maneater regarding the Chiefs and the Cardinals as well. Published my first article on substack over winter break covering Tyler Tanner: a point guard at Vanderbilt University. Currently working on my 2026 NBA big board which is pushing 30,000 words and aims to be finished soon. My writing sample is still pretty small, with school and other jobs i don't have as much time as i'd particularly like, however I'm trying to designate more time this semester and hope to publish articles weekly on my substack over the summer.
I am obsessed with Basketball, I love sports analytics and I love watching sports, playing sports, reading about sports and writing sports I watch a lot of movies and listen to a lot of music and say I'm pretty well versed in both mediums I'm pretty caught up in world events and global politics, I listen to a lot of NPR and other political news outlets I enjoy reading as well, I'm into a lot of classical fiction and books about sports analytics and coaching
