  • Collaborated with a diverse research team in a hybrid environment, including faculty members, dedicated to using AI and drones to help blueberry farmers in New Jersey estimate their crop yield and detect diseases.
  • During Summer 2024, Under a New Jersey Space Grant Summer Research funded by NASA, Co-Led a diverse research team to create AI drones with intelligent flight code used to survey blueberry fields, to predict crop yield, and detect diseases.
  • Analyzed and interpreted data collected by drones to discover new effective methods of using blueberries, detected by computer vision on the bush, to estimate the number of berries physically on the bush.
  • Learned the fundamentals of Machine Learning and applied Python libraries, such as YOLO, to create detection models.
  • Built custom drones that integrate NVIDIA GPUs and PX4 technology to perform intelligent flights and data collection.
  • Programmed AI Drone missions and tested them in simulations in Unreal Engine to see how the missions would likely perform in real environments.
  • Created posters to illustrate results of our research and presented my team’s research at the NJBDA Symposium 2024 and received awards.
  • Presented ideas and progress on research at weekly team meetings.
