As a student of the Honors Program at Peninsula College, participated in a cohort that explored the interdisciplinary nature of academia and strategies for advancement within their respective fields. The culmination of the program involved designing, executing, analyzing, and presenting an independent research project. Under mentorship of oceanographer Dr. Ian Miller, developed a project focusing on the historical geomorphology Port Angeles. This project included collecting GIS data and comparing it with historical records. The findings revealed that land sluicing in the early 1900s had buried the original coastline, potentially destroying previous environments, threatening the current environment, and possibly burying historical artifacts of indigenous peoples.
