Charged Nurse in my unit

I'm a Charge Nurse in Post-Surgical Unit. I manage the staffing schedule, patient census and patient's assignment of nursing staff. As a Charge Nurse I delegate tasks according to their skills and capacities for the safety of the patients. I act as resource for decision-making for the nurses' unit. I monitor and assist with admissions and discharges. I identify potential patient safety issues that may result in injury, illness, or other complications. I manage shift safety, adherence to policies and compliance with regulations. I support colleagues with resources and hands-on collaboration as necessary. I coordinate with physicians to ensure adequate nursing unit support. I also deal with critical patient or family situations.
