In my role as an Administrative Assistant with the Sonoma County Office of Education(SCOE), I have a varied list of duties. These duties include and are not limited to the following;
I create and manage both the SEIU and ASCOE meeting calendars. I prepare minutes for both the Sonoma County Human Resources Roundtable meetings and the SEIU meetings. I partner with our SCOE nurses to creatively schedule TB clinics for our fellow SCOE employees. These clinics have been both in person and virtual. I also manage SCOE's Vector training courses. I assign courses to our employees annually, monitoring progress of completions or overdue courses. I report employees' status to SCOE leadership on a regular basis. I am the Coordinator for SCOE's annual United Way Campaign. I work closely with the representative from The United Way of the Wine Country to set our campaign goals, set the campaign in motion and finalize the outcome at the end of the campaign. I am the County Coordinator for The California Department of Education's(CDE) annual Classified School Employee of the Year(CSEY). This is a statewide program recognizing the exemplary classified staff of our districts. Being a County Coordinator entails procuring and collecting nominations from all of our districts in Sonoma County. I maintain clear and concise communication with the CDE. I am the liaison to our districts when they have questions of clarification on qualifying criteria, etc. I invite and work with the CSEY Selection Committee on preparing to choose our county's finalists that will represent Sonoma County at the state level and then onto the national level.
I am an active participant in the planning of SCOE's annual career fair both artistically and logistically. I am a pivotal player in the preparing and planning of our Annual Back to School Event. My roles often include procuring vendors to be present and assist them with their set up. These vendors have included SCOE's insurance providers as well as community members, such as Community First Bank, SMRT, Habitat For Humanity, and The Housing Land Trust of Sonoma County. My involvement will also find me decorating and setting up for this event.
I schedule and proctor both the Paraprofessional Exam and the Bilingual Proficiency exams for SCOE and its districts' employees.
I am also a constant contributor and collaborator on any projects that arise in our department or beyond.
As SCOE's lead Live Scan technician, I schedule and host regular guests from our community and many of SCOE's districts for their background screening for employment or volunteer purposes. I maintain a secure filing system for this office as mandated by the California Department of Justice. I invoice our districts on a monthly basis using the spreadsheets that I regularly update. I have a partnership with our business department. We work together to balance the live scan office's books both monthly and at year's end.
I work along side my fellow HR analysts while they are in the process of onboarding new employee candidates. Together we coordinate the timing of their fingerprinting appointment with their meeting with their new employee.
I collaborate and communicate with our Credentials team on updates to their process as it may pertain to my role as live scan technician. I also am responsible for the addition of ink fingerprinting to SCOE. Being able to offer this service broadens our client base, thus bringing in more revenue.
When my calendar lends itself to assisting, you may find me pitching in on other departments' events when they are in need of "more hands on deck" to make their event successful.
Healdsburg Senior Living Community is a residential community dedicated to the care and comfort of its residents. At the time of my employment here, there were two memory care units, a skilled nursing unit, assisted and independent living wings.
As an Activities Assistant, I was responsible for engaging my residents in exercise, games, arts and crafts, gardening and singing. I could be found juggling two of the units at a time, coordinating the timing of activities. One of the biggest joys was being able to spend time one on one with residents interacting on a personal level.
As Assistant to the Marketing Director, I was involved in the development and execution of various events and campaigns. These events, such as our Classic Car Show and Rat Pack Casino Night were meant to bring living examples of days gone by to our residents' world. As a main player in this team effort, I may be found arranging flowers for an event, all the way to running a continental breakfast for a few hundred guests and visitors.
TruScan Fingerprints Services' employees are responsible for obtaining clear and precise fingerprint images and collecting accurate personal information pertaining to the applicant. This information is primarily sent to both the Department of Justice(DOJ) and to the Federal Bureau of Investigations(FBI). Together with my staff, I maintained secure records as directed to do so by the DOJ. The DOJ performs regular audits statewide, so specific records are kept per their guidelines. I also kept thorough knowledge of the equipment that I used to perform my duties as a live scan technician. Accuracy and efficiency are key in this process. Also key is the presence of value and empathy while with your guest. Yes, there are details not to be missed on paper, data entry and on the scanner, but one mustn't miss the detail of respect and professionalism that are shared with your guest. While bringing value of relatability to the relationship, Rapport is built. Trust is built.
TruScan Fingerprint Services pioneered a convenient mobile live scan fingerprinting service that allowed us to bring our expert and personal services to our clients regardless of location. I personally handled many events that hosted over 100 people needing to be fingerprinted. It takes calm orchestration coupled with clear communication between the parties.
