Initiate interactions with guests to proactively provide animal and park information at SeaWorld and Aquatica. Including but not limited to:
Conduct frequent, informative, and entertaining animal presentations while staffing park attractions
Conduct department guided tours
Monitor guest and animal safety
Aid in department educational programs, such as sleepovers and summer camp
As an Educator 1, I am part of a small team of avian animal ambassador, working with the Magellanic penguins at SeaWorld. This position includes but is not limited to:
Daily husbandry
Conditioning/training of birds
Ensuring safe/positive guest interactions
Main responsibilities include providing safe and educational interactions between guests (primarily school-aged children) and education ambassador animals. As well as planning and implementing all programs provided by zoo. Including but not limited to:
Creating and teaching lesson plans for education program
Facilitating safe interactions between school groups and animals
Conducting guided tours through the zoo
Work to oversee all aspects of the Before and After School Programs daily to ensure quality and expectations are being met at all times for the YMCA, parents, and each of the 200+ students that attend.
Some essential functions include:
Supervise daily activities and general program operations
Parent communication for questions, concerns, payment information
Aid co-teachers with tasks, activities, and emergency situations
Administer first aid, CPR, and medication as needed.
Perform evaluations on current co-teachers
Serve as a trainer for incoming co-teachers
Responsible for the care taking of Florida native injured and orphaned wildlife, as well as the residential animals that live at the facility and serve as educational ambassadors. Tasks include but are not limited to:
Animal husbandry
Documenting animal behavior
Bottle/tube feeding infant wildlife
Identifying and tending to injuries
Responsible for planning, implementing, and supervising all aspects of daily activities for students (K-5th).
This included but was not limited to
Research, organize, and prepare daily lesson plans
Manage supplies for both students and staff
Providing a clean, healthy, and well organized environment for the students
Caring for children of all capacities
