I have been working my way through nursing since 2019 after my son was born.
His first six months of life were spent in the neonatal intensive care unit, and it was during this time that I developed an immense amount of love and respect for all areas of the nursing field.
I wanted to be the person to bring the same feeling of relief and joy that his nurses had brought to me each and every day. My son is my biggest inspiration and motivation in every aspect of my life.
In 2020, I took the first step of obtaining my CNA certification. This was in the height of COVID and in an odd way, I am actually thankful that I joined the field at such a hectic time. I learned most of my skills in my first year as a CNA.
In 2021, I began to leave in-house CNA work and started traveling locally to better adhere to my home/life schedule. I worked skilled units, acute care, pulmonary, SNF and LTC. I am most skilled and experienced in LTC and geriatrics. I've adapted a deep love for dementia/alzheimer care.
I have an associates degree in pre-allied health through LRCC and I still currently attend college to further my education in nursing. My five year plan as of now is to earn my RN and bridge to BSN. The end goal is to have my MSN/ NP.
