Work History

Division Manager

Cards Recycling
05.2024 - 10.2025
  • When I started with the company, my home base was in Grove, OK and I was overseeing sites in Grove, OKC, Muskogee and Anna, TX. The company then made some changes and moved me to the Kansas- Missouri market. There I oversaw Nixa and Winona Missouri and Pittsburg and Hays, Kansas. The Better Busines Bureau rating for the company at the time of my employment was an “F”. As of Oct 17th, 2024 their rating has improved to a B-. I was proud to be a part of improving the company in the area of Maintenance. Cards had a maintenance tracking program called “Dossier” that I was able to implement to a greater degree of efficiency. I started performing proper maintenance on the fleet and hiring mechanics that could perform their jobs properly. I was part of getting the maintenance budgets in line to start tracking year over year. I was part of setting local vendors in order to get the trucks properly repaired. As of Oct 17th , 2025, I’m tracking over $200,000.00 below budget. A portion of this is due to revenue that is below budget so I have been able to adjust my expenses to keep in line with my percent to budget. Another factor in reducing budget is tracking expenses and using our preferred vendors.

Service Manager

Tri-State Truck Center, Inc.
02.2017 - 04.2024
  • Job Duties at the Mack / Volvo Dealership included bringing in revenue for the service department and making a targeted gross profit and controlling expenses for service department and facility repairs. During the first year at Tri-State Truck Center my budget was $105,000.00 at 69% gross profit. In 2023 the budget was $148,500.00 at 74% gross profit. I achieved an average of $156,000.00 sales with a 75% gross profit. When I separated from the company, my Google review for Joplin was 4.3 (out of 5) and the shop was meeting all guidelines from Mack and Volvo and the NTP scores. Responsibilities also included recruiting technicians from former military personnel, colleges, high school and job fairs.
  • VP of Service: David Ellis

Maintenance Manager

Republic Services
07.2006 - 09.2016
  • Responsibilities: My employment responsibilities began in Bella Vista, AR as a working supervisor in the maintenance department. Within two months I was promoted to the Maintenance Manager overseeing three locations (Galena, KS, Cherryvale, KS, and Bella Vista AR). My responsibilities included overseeing maintenance for 100 trucks. The first full year, I reduced the expense in the Maintenance Department over $500,000 while maintaining the fleet standards. The following year, 2008, it was reduced over $250,000 while maintaining fleet standards. In 2009, costs were reduced $150,000 and in 2010 reductions were over $50,000 while maintaining fleet standards. During those years, we received recognition for having a Model Shop for two years. Other responsibilities included maintenance over the landfill equipment. I took lead in any remodel of the shops and coordinating with contractors as needed. In the past nine years, our safety record has been exceptional and two of those years we were under 2% in safety ratings and only had one year that hit 12%. These last two years, in 2013 and 2014, we achieved the “Business Unit of the year” for our Area. One of those years we were 3rd in the overall Company among 165 Business Units.
  • General Manager: Pete Forst

Maintenance Manager

Waste Management
05.2003 - 05.2006
  • Responsibilities: Maintain a fleet of over 270 vehicles at three separate Waste Management locations throughout northern California. Vehicles included a variety of garbage trucks (Volvo, Mack, Freightliner, and Peterbuilt), port-o-lets, and flat-bed trucks. I was also responsible to comply with the maintenance requirements that may differ among the different county and state agencies that Waste Management serves. This included meeting the inspection requirements and schedules for each area, as well as the differing reports required for each. Other responsibilities included overseeing the Container Shop. This division repairs the metal bins, trash cans and the toilets used by the company. My other duties included facility maintenance, encompassing oversight of the building permits and meeting county regulations and standards. My responsibilities included oversight over one employee responsible for building maintenance. I was also accountable for a 20-million dollar budget per year for all departments under my oversight and had reduced the budget and operated more efficiently over the previous fourteen months. One part of my responsibilities included safety matters. In this area, I helped maintain and improve the safety standards at each site required by Waste Management corporate office. Additionally, I have volunteered to work extra hours during labor disputes, and have devoted many extra hours and travel time in order to maintain two other sites.
  • General Manager: Robert Zakoor

Maintenance Manager

Albertson’s
01.2000 - 05.2003
  • Responsibilities: Maintain the equipment and to provide prompt delivery to the stores. I prepared and executed a budget, projected for new equipment and tools through a capital expense budget, oversaw the mechanics and servicers who maintain the equipment. I have worked to reduce the overhead expenses for thirteen out of fourteen quarters, and maintained a high level of safety with regards to the maintenance of the equipment. I have evaluated and executed the removal of excessive equipment and personnel, thus reducing overall costs of operations. Some responsibilities included the oversight of all forklifts and bailers for 179 stores, including repairs and warranty work. Periodically I would volunteer to serve on the Board of Adjustments involving labor relations. I have also assisted other Distribution Centers in implementing a new maintenance program that enables them to function more efficiently. I worked closely with the facilities maintenance manager (Tony Cantalano) primarily in regards to large projects around the facility, including construction, remodel, and reorganizing. I have traveled to other Distribution Centers to assist with labor issues (Strike Possibilities). I have been involved with all of the safety committees and have assumed the role of Safety Matrix Coordinator for the San Leandro Distribution Center. I have been involved in almost all associate appreciation activities including monthly barbecues, truck and forklift rodeos, Christmas dinner and monthly safety meetings.

Journeyman Mechanic / Maintenance Supervisor

Albertson’s
01.1992 - 01.2000
  • Responsibilities: As a diesel mechanic, my duties included troubleshooting electronics on Cummins engines, tune-ups, and performing all other normal maintenance on tractors and trailers. In July of 1998 I entered the C. A.P. (Company Advancement Program) and became a supervisor in Fleet Maintenance. For the first month, I learned tracking of expenses and maintain service and repairs of 80 tractors and 190 trailers. The Superintendent (my immediate boss) then resigned and the company replaced him with someone less familiar with the workings of our shop. I worked to help orient my new superintendent with the operations and budget of the shop. For sixteen months I worked as a supervisor for the Brea Distribution Center and was then promoted to the position of Maintence Manager for the Northern California San Leandro Distribution Center.
