Responsible for teaching, training, mentoring and providing leadership opportunities for over 1,380 cadets over the past 7 years. Of these 1,380 2.75 percent furthered their education. 3.12 percent entered the Armed Forces. Responsible for administering curriculum for JROTC cadets’ leadership education training, (LET) levels 1 – 4, ensuring all training is to standard employing instruction, demonstration and practical application where applicable. Competent in preparing for and presenting organized instruction, assessment and evaluation, classroom management, establishing a positive learning environment, trained in interpersonal relations, capable of written and spoken communication and versed in subject matter content. Coached special teams, drill team armed and unarmed, color guard armed and unarmed as well as exhibition and regulation drill.
Additional duties include primary hand receipt holder for government property and school property ensuring 100 percent accountability annually and biannually when required by higher headquarters. Unit Government Purchase Card, (GPC) holder responsible for procuring necessary equipment for JROTC program using Operation and Maintenance Army (OMA) and Military Personnel Army (MPA) funds. Maintains close communication with Department of Defense Federal Mall, (DODFEDMALL) to keep current with changes within the mall to ensure a timely receipt of needed equipment for the JROTC unit. Coordinates all adventure training with full understanding of supporting documents required for request OMA or MPA funding. Responsible for ensuring all audits of OMA and MPA are justified and correct for mirror audit experiences. Responsible for monthly close out of GPC and filing of all bank statement, maintaining records and certified billing statements and supporting documents are retained for six years and three months after final payment, and cardholder statements of account and associated receipts for three years after final payment according to Federal Acquisitions Regulation, (FAR) 4.805.
