• Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit
• Provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization.
• Implement and monitor patient care plans.

• Make assignments to licensed staff [LVN, RN] and delegate to unlicensed staff in compliance with current BNE rules in a structured health setting for patients with predictable as well as unpredictable health needs
• Act as patient advocate to implement and direct care to ensure patient safety in the clinical practice environment

• Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process
• Assess and plan the care of the patient

• Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit
• Responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating care for assigned patients in the NICU
• Participates in the development and implementation of policies and procedures or the NICU
• Responsible for meeting the standards of Practice for a Level II and Level III NICU and managing all assigned personnel, supplies and equipment
• Participates in activities to plan, measure, assess and improve the quality of patient care.
• Performs neonatal assessment and nursing care of Level II/III NICU and Newborn Nursery patients
• Performs gestational age assessments
• Demonstrates appropriate usage and understanding of equipment used in the department.
• Participates in the discharge process to include parent teaching
