In charge of conducting the research project “Creating A Fertigation Strategy For Upland Cotton Using Sub-Surface Drip Irrigation,”

• Conducted nitrogen extraction protocols for nitrate and ammonium levels in the soil, destructive plant sampling, and preparation for analysis on both
• gathered soil samples to dry and grind down to sift through a 2mm sieve
• Responsible for physiological data collection on all research plots
• Ran data though SAS and organized data collected into Excel
• Gathered, reviewed and summarized literature from scientific journals.
• Created professional PowerPoints for meetings, wrote a proposal and literature review, and presented a poster at the ASA Tri-Society Convention.

• Assisted in planting trials with ten to twenty-one varieties of cotton in a radius of two hundred fifty miles of Lubbock
• Assisted in a a few corn fields for the assessment on data correlating to genetics to pest resistance and yield potential
• Responsible for collecting data on plant growth consisting of emergence, height, several types of node counts, open and closed boll count, weather resistance. and apical dominance. I recorded the data in Excel and emailed it to the agronomists
• Hauled/operated the boll buggy, recording weight, and collecting samples
• Ginning the samples and taking secondary samples to the FBRI for testing
• Drove an average of two thousand miles visiting ten to fifteen fields per week
• Supported the Breeding Station by cleaning and treating cotton seed and assisted with preparation for shipping to other facilities across the U.S
