I am an Au Pair dedicated to providing children with a warm, nurturing environment for optimal development. I enjoy co-ordinating activities focused on skill-building, social development and positive interactions. I am a childcare professional adept at staying organised and managing hectic situations. I also believe in a kind and compassionate approach when dealing with discipline issues.
I am a musician of 8 years with experience in concert band, duo and trio performances. I qualified to Grade 4 flute and Grade 1 saxophone.
I excel when I am being proactive and keeping busy. When I was 17, alongside college and my part time job as a waitress, I used to baby sit twice a week. I also volunteered at the Children’s Daycare centre I attended when I was younger. I wanted to experience and learn from a professional childcare facility as well as accumulating hours that would benefit me in my application for Cultural Care Au Pair. I was working with Cultural Care for a year and a half trying to match with the perfect host family. In July 2020 I matched with a wonderful American family of 5 and was due to fly out to them at the beginning of February 2021, however due to the pandemic I wasn’t able to obtain my Visa to get there in time to fulfill my duties. This was devastating to both myself and my host family as I had grown to know them and their children very well over the past 7 months. After over two years of knowing this incredible family, lots of perseverance and hard work, I was finally able to fly to them and begin my journey with them as their Au Pair. Its been the most enriching experience being here in the US and been a huge privilege to be a part of this family for the past 4 years.
Before the pandemic, in my free time I went to my local health club. I used to enjoy making use of their gym and swimming pool, as well as going to Zumba classes. However my favourite hobby is Travel. In the past few years I have travelled to Sorrento, Milan, Seville, Crete and Paris as well as all over the USA. Along with the amazing places I got to see in these incredible cities, another passion of mine was trying the different cuisines. As my Dad is a chef, this is something I have always had an interest in.
While at present, I only possess 3 years of childcare experience, I also believe that through my 6 years working in many different establishments that I have accumulated a wide variety of life experience that can be moulded into any situation I may face. I think that skills like this can be transferable in any child care job.
