Registered nurse with 8+ years experience working in the health care field, and currently working at Baton Rouge General Medical Center, specializing with a true passion in Labor and Delivery. Aiming to leverage a proven knowledge of providing quality care to patients with skills in advocacy, compassion, and patient safety, to successfully fill the Registered Nurse role at your healthcare facility. Frequently praised as diligent, hard working, and loyal by my peers. I can be relied upon to help your company achieve it's goals.
Returned to Baton Rouge General Medical Center as a Labor and Delivery Nurse, expanding my responsibilities as a Charge Nurse. Adding to my experience and already existing roles as a labor and delivery nurse, our unit incorporated the treatment of patient's recovering from gastric surgeries. This allowed me to further expand my nursing knowledge beyond Labor and Delivery, making me a more confident registered nurse.
Continued my Labor and Delivery experience at Billing's Clinic, designed as Montana's top hospital for Labor and Delivery. At Billing's Clinic, we provide care to healthy as well as high-risk patients wishing to deliver their baby under our care. Throughout this time, my knowledge grew along-side experienced obstetricians, midwives, and woman's health nurse practitioners. As an RN at Billing's clinic, my roles consisted of triage nursing, antepartum care, induction of labor, circulating nurse in scheduled and emergent cesarean sections, postpartum mother and newborn care, and gynecological surgical patient care.
Provides care to triage patients with a wide variety of care needs, from antenatal complications, admit for induction of labor, to postpartum readmitted patients. Guides mothers through the labor and delivery process as well as scheduled or emergent cesarean sections, ensuring safety of both mother and neonate. Also proficient in providing postpartum care for the remainder of the couplet's hospital stay.
My Nurse Internship in Labor and Delivery/NICU allowed me to attain a greater experience and knowledge caring for mothers and neonates of various critical levels. As a Nurse Intern, I successfully guided mothers throughout the antepartum, intrapartum and postpartum period, with the supervision of a Registered Nurse. The tasks included assessing the mother's state of labor, guiding the progression through the labor process, and care of the mother and neonate immediately following. I believe my time and passion spent as a Nurse Intern prepared me for my role as an Obstetrics Registered Nurse.
After 4 semesters of clinical rotations in med-surg, general surgery, heart and vascular, mental health, obstetrics, pediatrics, and ICU, I completed my senior semester of nursing with my preceptorship on the Progressive Care Unit, a stepdown respiratory unit. This experience allowed me to increase my competency in adult critical care.
As a Nurse Technician in Oncology I provided quality care to patients alongside and under direct supervision of a Registered Nurse. My responsibilities included monitoring vital signs, accuchecks, stocking patient rooms, helping patients ambulate and perform activities of daily living, and assisting the RN in performing nursing skills such as wound care, central line dressing changes and many others. As a nurse technician I was also available to provide emotional care to the vulnerable patient population.
In this position, I transported patients to and from destinations in the hospital setting such as radiology, surgery, discharge, and many others. With this role, I was able to build on my communication skills to its current level and at the same time, comfort patients struggling to cope. It was a very rewarding position to have held and provided me with a great foundation to the rest of my healthcare career.
