Madeline Mahoney

Recent Neurobiology and Physiology graduate of Purdue University, West Lafayette with a certificate in Medical Humanities and a GPA of 3.78. Experienced in undergraduate laboratory instruction, three years experience as a research assistant and four years of leadership in the Woman in Science Program (WISP). Recipient of the Presidential Scholarship and Championing Diversity in Science award.

Chaired the Social Committee organizing events, leading and delegating tasks to committee members. Participated as a member of the program and later served as a mentor, guiding first year science women through their initial semesters at Purdue.                                          

Brain Exercise Initiative (BEI) | Group Leader/Committee Member | Aug 2021-Present | Purdue University  

Volunteer weekly at local nursing homes, interacting with residents by working through brain exercise packets. Continue to serve on the Exercise Committee where I aide in the preparation and development of the weekly packets for the nursing home patients.

Provided two groups of 15, first-year students, with an introduction to the university by fostering an inclusive environment and introducing students to campus, helping to ease their transition to Purdue.
