I am a twenty five year old career nanny with seven years of experience in my field! I am passionate about my work in childcare and believe children and infants deserve a safe environment to grow and learn, where they can feel seen and heard. I believe children thrive on love, structure, and empathy and that is exactly what I provide. I believe childcare starts with connection and trust, and I am always building on those steps. I have relevant newborn experience, travel experience, excellent references, and all vaccinations.
A little about me personally...I am the eldest daughter of seven children and am extremely close with my big family. I love the outdoors, hiking, rock climbing, pilates, and staying active. I love cooking, reading a good thriller novel or inspiring memoir, and early walks on the lake front. I am still close and in contact with all of the children I have worked with and love the connection we share. I love Chicago and have lived in the Chicagoland area my entire life. One day I hope to have my own large family and raise them here in the city.
When I began this job I was working with a four month old girl. Here I have been responsible for typical child related activities such as meal prepping (I made her baby purees from scratch and helped her transition to solids), laundry, activity coordination, nap scheduling, and helping her develop her independence as a growing toddler. I also preformed duties that went a bit out of the scope of a regular nanny position including traveling with her on road trips and on airplanes, doing dishes, taking out trash, scheduling and taking her to doctor appointments and vaccinations, and toy rotations and closet clean ups when her size changed. They welcomed a newborn boy this past November and I continued to keep up with all my typical duties while also caring for the newborn and helping the first child adjust to life with a sibling.
I began here working with a five year old girl and three year old boy. The mother was pregnant when I began and it was understood when the third baby (a son) joined them that I would be watching all three full time. This job gave me such amazing experience with kids of all ages and working with multiple kids at once. Here I learned to work with newborns, infants, toddlers, and school aged children through all their developmental milestones. I coordinated after school activities and school drop offs/pick ups. I was able to get experience with pacifier weaning, potty training, nap scheduling, and transitioning from bottles to baby food to solid foods. I was responsible for dishes, meals, and laundry.
I worked part time here for two girls. Ages two and four when I began. One was in school the whole time and one I worked with while she was a toddler until she also entered half day preschool. I continued to care for them before and after school hours. My duties included helping with homework, light clean up, and meal prep. A big role I had was helping them develop the independence to do chores and snack prep on their own. As they got older I also loved being an ear for them when they had problems at school and supplying that emotional connection with them.
