Year of professional experience

I am a resourceful team player with many skills in building relationships and problem solving. I have a great background in leadership stemming from my childhood as I was the oldest of six children all the way through running different children's groups for Pennsylvania Tourette's Syndrome Alliance(PATSA). I have volunteered in many different environments such as Special Olympics, my churches CCD classes, and PATSA camps/groups. I am extremely driven and care about the work I put out and strive to be the best I can be. In high school I completed the cooperative education program and spent half of my day at the results therapy hand clinic observing, cleaning, and organizing. Throughout college I completed multiple different volunteer based activities such as volunteering at Noah's Ark Day Care planning activities for the children and creating group session ideas for Trinity Low income housing in Waynesboro, PA. I am very Committed to developing career path and expanding my work experience.
Year of professional experience
Transitions Healthcare was my second clinical location for my degree. Transitions healthcare is a skilled nursing facility with short and long term rehab patients. While there I treated multiple patients with numerous different injuries and diseases. I worked on developing report with patients, treatment ideas and came up with alternative treatments when necessary. I also worked alongside physical therapy practitioners to ensure development in both occupational and physical therapy goals. Most of my work was done by working on Activities of Daily Living with patients such as getting dressed, grooming, feeding, and using the bathroom. I also took care of the therapy clinic by restocking supplies and cleaning to provide a sterile and safe environment for patients and practitioners.
Kids Therapy Zone is a pediatric outpatient clinic and was my first clinical location for my degree. While at Kids Therapy zone I worked on developing report with patients, treatment ideas and came up with alternative treatments when necessary. I also worked alongside physical therapy and speech practitioners to ensure development in speech, occupational, and physical therapy goals. Most of my work was done by working on fine motor, gross motor, social, or coping skills with kids from 1 year to about 13 years of age. I was also able to use the clinics gym and sensory rooms in treatment as well.
I worked as a nanny/special-needs caretaker for the Day family. In addition to completing household operations and caring for their children, I also offered specific care for their child who had a trach at the time. I acquired skills necessary for this care such as suction and changing trachs and the special dressings with the nurse.
Through summer and fall of 2016-2019 I volunteered as a youth leader for PA-TSA. I helped at their camps and retreats working with children who were diagnosed with tourrettes syndrome and other comorbid disorders along with their siblings. I helped organize and run activities involving gross and fine motor skills.
