Madelynn Olin

I work with children of varying ages, developmental levels, and skill sets. I lead children throughout the daily schedule and participate in activities. I support children by listening and offering encouragement. Other responsibilities I have are organizing, leading, and participating in group activities, leading campers with constructive guidance, and participating in meetings to coordinate with other staff on campers progress, issues, goals, or achievements. I also enhance the camper's experience by planning and executing diverse activities tailored to age groups and interests. I participate in daily debrief sessions with the other staff, providing feedback on activities, and helping to maintain the camp facilities. I work with the other staff as part of a team to ensure a safe, enjoyable, and fun camp season.

As an intern at Shepherd's Cross with a focus on livestock care, I spent a lot of time taking care of the livestock. Along with that, I was also involved with all of the educational events that the farm hosted. I was in regular contact with children and adults who came to visit and learn more about agriculture. I supported other staff members in their daily tasks, reducing workload burden and allowing for increased focus on higher-priority assignments. I gained valuable experience using design software and learned basic grant-writing skills. I learned to be very flexible with schedules and tasks as I covered the "night shift" during lambing season, staying organized while managing multiple tasks was very important. I participated in workshops and presentations related to agribusiness and customer relations.
