- Material quality checks: Verify that raw materials for construction, such as steel, concrete, bricks, and aggregates, satisfy the project's specifications by testing them. As per the applicable rules and standards, perform tests such as sieve analysis, compression testing, and tensile testing.
- Field quality checks: Visit construction sites to verify that the project or infrastructure being built complies with design specifications and engineering drawings in terms of size, slopes, and orientation, among other details. Verify the craftsmanship and construction quality as well.
- Equipment Calibration: Make sure that all the testing apparatus is appropriately calibrated using accepted practices. Organize yearly calibration exercises as necessary.
- Documentation & Reporting: Keep track of any on-site non-compliances or quality issues and create thorough reports to notify top management and other relevant parties. Keep accurate logs and records of every inspection activity.
- Coordination with Contractors: To promote issue resolution through appropriate corrective and preventive actions, coordinate with contractors and suppliers at the site regarding any quality concerns.
- Audits: In accordance with audit standards, assist senior QC engineers in conducting internal and external quality audits by gathering data and doing site inspections.
- Site Compliance: Verify that on-site quality procedures adhere to client specifications, ISO standards, quality plans, and other criteria. Report any deviation from the rules.
- The emphasis is on cooperation between the office and site for efficient quality management, as well as regular quality checks carried out under the direction of experienced engineers.
