I am responsible for handling all incoming referrals, assessing and admitting patients, business development for the territory, and gaining and maintaining relationships with referral sources such as; case managers, social workers, nurses, physicians, outpatient offices, and community sources. Additional job duties include community involvement and education, monthly business reviews, daily and weekly reporting, and daily documentation on status of referrals.
Job duties include but are not limited to; handling referrals, completing on-site assessments, collecting patient information and discussing insurance information with patient & family members, submitting insurance authorization requests, communicating with hospital staff (case managers, social works, nurses, and physicians), guiding the admission process, and marketing to hospital and community entities. Marketing duties include; daily networking with healthcare providers & senior service providers (Tyler Sr. Center, Alzheimer’s Alliance, local churches, and food banks), scheduling meetings, presentations, and breakfasts/lunches to develop and maintain referral sources. Additional responsibilities include creating and updating quarterly and monthly marketing action plans, competitive analytics, spenddown/budgeting, and weekly marketing logs.
Job responsibilities include verifying insurance for outpatient physical, occupational, and speech therapies, as well as cardiac rehabilitation patients. I communicate with the 13 outlying therapy clinics and coordinate their patient-flow. Registration and billing are also daily duties.
Job duties include; being certified to use a Hoyer lift, gait belts, and many other transferring aids along with being responsible for any type of non-medical assistance and being able to make a pleasant atmosphere for the clients.
