Summary

Veterinary Technician student, going into my 2nd year next semester. No previous job; unemployed. I have been around animals all of my life and interested in caring for them. Moderate experience with animal handling such as basic restraints for dogs and cats. I understand animal behavior and the signs of which they are aggressive, in pain, nervous. I have experience with administering medication by mouth for cats and dogs within the school. I understand medical documentation and what to put in it. I am able to work with microscopes to test for internal parasites such as Trichuris Vulpis. Toxocara, Ancylostoma, etc. I am aware of some medications to treat animals such as Fenbendazole, Pyrantel, Melarsomine, Ivermectin, Praziquantel, Nitenpyram. I understand how to run fecal tests such as flotations and sediments. I know about USG, Wet/Dry prep, urine sediments, smears. I understand how to differentiate RBC from WBC, epithelial cell knowledge. I am currently learning how to administer SubQ fluids and Physical Examinations of my patient. I am trying to master what I have trouble on to master my skills to be a proficient technician.
