ABIS - Quantifying Surface Quality

• Calibrated ABIS program for the 663 WS FRT Door
• Scanned panel to get first set of measurements. Stoned the panel. Calculated a VSC score. Recalibrated the program to have ABIS match the VSC score.
• This added another layer to loop 2 (inspectors and auditors) which helped validate the quality of the line.
• Successfully calibrated the new measurement to get scores to match.
• Turned C level defect to a D level defect.

520 RU Closeout Extrusion Hole Elimination

• Worked with Resident Engineer to eliminate 2 way and 4 way PLP flanged holes from being uneven and inconsistent in the stamping process.
• Performed 4M1D Assessment to help identify how to approach the problem. There was a relationship issue with the pierce and flange operations.
• Implemented a PER (Production Evaluation Request) and 10 pcs, 5 from each cavity were successfully evaluated internally at Warren Stamping Plant and at the Windsor Assembly Plant.
• Successfully performed a read-across for extrusion hole elimination for the JL 714 and 715 which had the same issue as 520 RU Closeout.
