Student Researcher
1 Year 3 Months- Conducted a photovoice research project with local high school students in a historically marginalized neighborhood to gather data that can be used to obtain future grants for neighborhood revitalization and write a conference research paper to be presented at the Association for Environmental Studies and Sciences 2026
- Collected oral history interviews of long-term residents for storage in the IL State Library database and preserve the rich history of the neighborhood
Student Consultant
3 Months- Partnered as a student consultant with Augustana and the City of Davenport to assess the current health of the Duck Creek Watershed near the recreational trail through field work and presented findings and recommendations to city officials in the form of an official report and presentation
- Analyzed over 20,000 wildlife and recreational camera photos to evaluate human trail usage, potential human/wildlife interactions, and existing biodiversity
- Conducted 120+ in-person trail user surveys to gauge the opinions, values, and extent of local ecological knowledge of frequent trail users
Garden Intern
2 Months- Weighed and distributed more than 1200 lbs. of produce donated from community garden partnerships
- Served hundreds of hot meals and created connections within the community
- Managed a community garden and volunteer list focused on community outreach and building relationships
