Volunteer Experience

Lyle Torrant Center

  • Throughout high school, I was a part of a class called "peer connections," which gave me the opportunity to volunteer at a public school that serves youth with developmental disabilities. I had the amazing opportunity to work and interact with the children by supporting physical and occupational therapists in a pool. It was a very meaningful opportunity to observe and learn from the therapists while volunteering to support children during aquatic therapy.

County Commission on Aging

  • My senior year of my undergraduate program, I took an exercise science class that gave me the ability to go out and volunteer in the community. I co-led an exercise class for older adults in the community every Tuesday, gaining valuable leadership skills and community engagement.
