I have made Honor Roll most of my highschool career, some years High Honors. I have job shadowed my sister’s TSS Teacher, helping her and doing activities and exercises with the children. Sheila Hazlet, the teacher, said I was amazing at the job and had a lot of patience, handled pressure well, and said I was born to help children with special needs. She also mentioned how caring and understanding I am towards children and their situations.

My sister Baylee, who is now about to turn 10 this May, was born with Autism. Although she is not high on the spectrum, I have grown up teaching her, handling her meltdowns, and learning more about Autism as the time went by. From and because of her, I feel confident that I am able to help other children. Having so much experience with Autism throughout the years has made me more knowledgeable, and comfortable with Autism. I feel confident that I would be able to not only diagnose a child, but help work their mind in the right direction of being more comfortable in social situations, as well as smaller things like feeding and changing their own clothes.
