Madison Sarah

I am an undergraduate student at the University of South Florida pursuing a degree in Biomedical Sciences and minors in addictive studies and biomedical engineering. My experience as a Certified Nursing Assistant, has both provided me a CBRF certification, and an understanding of a team-based medical environment. This exposure to the medical field for almost two years has developed my ability to be reliable and responsible, to the degree in which I aided in passing medications to patients. I hope to advance and pursue further medical experience and research while working to obtain my undergraduate degree and continue on to medical school, obtain my MD, and specialize in cardiovascular surgery.

Plexus Mentorship program

• The Undergraduate Research Society promotes interdisciplinary undergraduate research among all of the undergraduate students at the University of South Florida. The organization is open to current undergraduate researchers, as well as undergraduate students interested in pursuing undergraduate research. • This program featured two weeks of daily shadowing in the Froedtert franchise. Each day participants were assigned a different professional to shadow for the day. Every couple of days participants gathered information and presented their experiences in front of the advisors of the project. At the end of the experience, each participant created one culminating presentation for the school board, Froedtert hospital's representatives and participants, and parents.

2. UMMSM Wilderness and Emergency Medicine

3. TeleShadowing

A clinical E-shadowing program that provides sessions for all realms of medical professionals from Neurosurgery to infectious diseases. It is a safe way to connect, listen to, and learn from medical professionals while amidst a global pandemic.

4. Pre Health Shadowing

Another virtually hosted shadowing platform created in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. It was recognized that the pandemic took students ability to shadow professionals, and was therefore founded by students to provide this for them. It features various health professionals from different backgrounds to talk about their job, education, extracurricular activities, admissions process, daily tasks, interesting cases, tips and more.
