  • SXSW Interactive 2016, SX Create, Austin, TX, March 2016, The Learning Remix, This talk by foresight professional Dr. Derek Woodgate and Maggie Duval discussed how education and learning concepts are being reframed to integrate student-centered, adaptive, and integral learning systems that meet the dramatic changes in workforce structures and emerging professions. They explored how STEAM-based experiential learning, multimedia, machine learning advancements, and neuroscience-aided assessment drive the need for a new learning ecosystem.
  • The Austin Forum on Technology and Society, Austin, TX, August 2014, Maker Culture and the New Economy, This panel discussed the trending Maker culture as part of this emerging new economy. Concrete examples of how tinkering drives technological innovation and ways that Austin shines in this area were shared. Also discussed were ideas on what new model jobs look like, opportunities, and next steps, including the emerging city and how organizations and communities can successfully shift into the emerging new economy of global business, dense interconnections, collaborative work, network organizations, and continuous accelerating change.
