Evaluated & set goals for 3 students on the autism spectrum (severe to moderate) through the many developmental stages of ages 5 to 20 years old
Used forms of play/recreational therapy to observe, get to know, connect with, motivate, and create with students
Implemented homework goals of speech therapists including receptive & expressive language, language literacy, auditory processing, comprehension, syntax, and more
Implemented homework goals of occupational therapists including fine motor skills & daily living skills
Implemented homework goals of physical therapists including gross motor skills & vestibular sensory processing skills
Used forms of behavioral therapy to increase motivation through repetition & positive reinforcement
Used a variety of curriculums to work towards basic academic goals in language arts, math, science, and social studies
Worked towards social skills through participation in a local homeschool Co-op, extracurricular activities, & summer camps
Practiced daily living skills at home including hygiene, cooking, & chores
Practiced transition to adulthood skills in the community like grocery shopping, ordering at a restaurant, spending money, using a post office, etc.
Trained and managed teams of a few employees or several volunteers who helped implement the kids' goals
Advertised and networked with colleges, churches, & community groups to recruit employees or volunteers to work with autism
Created and rearranged schedules for all 3 kids daily & evening activities and the employees/volunteers working with them
