• As a Special Education Needs Teacher (SEN) working with children who have learning, physical, emotional, or behavioral difficulties. Assessment and Planning

• Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) or Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs) tailored to each student’s needs.

• Set achievable goals for academic, social, and personal development.

. Teaching and Classroom Management

• Adapt and differentiate teaching methods, materials, and resources to suit individual learning styles and abilities.

• Provide one-on-one or small-group support to students with special needs.

• Use specialized equipment and techniques, such as assistive technology or sensory tools, to support learning.

• Create a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment to encourage student participation.

. Collaboration

• Work closely with teaching assistants, therapists (e.g., speech, occupational, or physical), and other specialists to provide holistic support.

• Liaise with parents, caregivers, and external agencies to ensure students’ needs are met effectively.

• Collaborate with general education teachers to support the inclusion of SEN students in mainstream classrooms.

. Behavioral and Emotional Support

• Implement strategies to manage challenging behaviors and emotional difficulties.

• Foster self-confidence and independence in students by teaching coping skills and problem-solving strategies.

• Promote students’ social integration through group activities and peer interactions.

. Monitoring and Reporting

• Track students’ progress against IEP/EHCP goals and adapt teaching plans accordingly.

• Maintain accurate and detailed records of student performance, interventions, and outcomes.

• Prepare reports for parents, school administrators, and external agencies during review meetings.

• Evaluating student progress and determining if treatment should end

• Selecting appropriate technology and material for 1he student

• Monitoring communication skills of a student in a number of settings

• Referring student to appropriate agency or special services, if needed

• Ordering equipment and supplies and requesting physical facilities

• Scheduling treatment sessions for each student

• Screening students for speech problem

· Counseling students with personal and psychological issues that affect their performance, behavior. and socialization in school.

· Providing counseling sessions, treatment plans, or workshops as necessary and establishing prevention programs and intervention plans.

· Communicating with students to determine the areas in which they may need assistance or counseling.

· Assisting teachers and administrators with behavioral and attitude issues by communicating with students to find the causes of their distress.

· Providing information, when appropriate, to outside support services to help students with economic, emotional, or physical issues.

· Assisting at-risk students or students with disabilities.

· Communicating with parents, teachers, and administrators to understand students' challenges.

· Maintaining case files and reports to track students' progress and problems.
