  • As a Manufacturing Associate, I worked in many different areas in the company. These areas are: Ribbon Jacketing Operator/Helper, Ribbon Tester, Ribbon Cleanroom, Warehouse Lag-line, and Warehouse Re-spooler.
  • Ribbon Jacketing Operator/Helper - I work as a machine operator to finalize the process on fiber-optic cables. I put the outer layer of the jacket on the cables. My job is to start up the line, prep for the next run, troubleshoot any problems that might arise, change the line over to a different product as needed, and keep the line running throughout the day.
  • Ribbon Tester - I test all the fiber-optic cables that come through Ribbon Jacketing, using advanced fiber testing machines, and record them. I make sure the cables pass and are visually accepted as per my standard operating procedure.
  • Ribbon Cleanroom - My job was to take the fiber that the company buys or makes, and color them as needed, since all the fiber inside a cable is color-coded.
  • Warehouse Lag - My job is to ensure that the cable being loaded onto trucks has the correct label. The label contains information on the cable's destination, as well as other important information.
  • Warehouse Re-spooler - My job is to cut the ordered cable into the length that the customer desires.
