I started working at DEFY about 2 years ago. At DEFY I started as a court monitor and worked my way through all the ranks to a shift lead. Before I became a shift lead I was a lead for just the park. As a park lead, my responsibilities were to make sure that everyone in the park was being safe and following all the safety rules so that no one would get hurt. It was also my responsibility to make sure that the staff was doing what they were supposed to be doing to drive guest experience and enforce safety in the park. I would respond to all injuries and act as a first responder. I would be in charge of making the break schedule and ensuring that everyone would take a break when it was needed. I was the main communication between the court monitors and management. Everything that the management needed to get out to the court monitors went through me.
Then after I was promoted to shift lead I continued those responsibilities and took on more. As a shift lead I was in charge of the entire place when a general manager wasn't there. My responsibilities would vary based off of when I was working. When I opened the building my job would to be to count all the drawers and make sure everything was correct to start the day. Then at the end of the shift I would have to recount the drawers to make sure they weren't over or under, and then put the money we made into the deposit. I would also do an inspection to make sure everything in the park is safe. While assigning the other workers cleaning tasks to make sure the park was nice and clean before we opened. If I was closing I would have to count the drawers to make sure they aren't over or under and if they were I'd have to fix them. Then I would have to take the money we made out and put it in the deposit with the other money we made from that day. I will then have to check to make sure trial was correct so that the deposit is spot on. After this I would have to clean the building to make sure it looks clean for the morning and make sure that the court monitors cleaned their areas properly. On a daily basis I would have to correct wrong doings by court monitors to make sure we are withholding company standards.
These positions have taught me a lot of responsibility. In these positions I would have to do a lot of multitasking and time managing. It's taught me patience and conflict resolution. It has taught me leadership and what it takes to lead a team.
