I am a newly graduated nurse from Grand Canyon University. I am compassionate, hardworking, and dependable. I enjoy working in high stress environments and the challenge to keep a clear concise head to address the problem at hand. I love making meaningful trustworthy relationships with my coworkers so that we are able to tackle situations together. I am looking for a work environment where I can grow to provide the best care possible to those in need and be challenged on a daily basis to help enhance my skills. I look forward to hopefully hearing from you and appreciate you taking the time to consider me as a candidate.
Did consultation work up on patients to get their medical background and why they were in to see the doctor. Saw patients for post-op appointments to see how they were healing and help the doctor see them post-op. Assisted in many different surgeries with the doctor passing instruments and suctioning or being at the head monitoring vital signs on patients who went under anesthesia. Recovered pot-op anesthesia patients with their vital signs and making sure they were set to go home before discharge. I eventually got trained up front as well in insurance, booking appointments, answering phones, and entering new patient information into the system.
I was an intern at a hosptial in Hawaii where I mainly followed the nurses and CNAs on the floor I was assigned to help them with their daily job. I would answer patient call lights and get them what they needed. I helped the nurses and CNAs perform ADLs for the patients like bathing, changing, and eating. I was able to watch procedures done in the room as long as the doctor approved. I helped to deliver meals to patients and assisted in feedings when necessary. I helped to transport patients to other floors or out to their cars on discharge. I took vital signs and reported them back to the nurses to document.

-Above listed are the clinicals I have done during my nursing school. During these clinicals we were able to practice the skills we had learned in lecture and lab and be able to apply them into real life patient care. We were able to perform assessments, take vital signs, administer medications, start IVs, place NG tubes, start foley catheters, and many other skills. These clinicals helped to give us the confidence in patient care while under another nurse. It also helped us to see what a shift looked like for the nurse we were working with and gave us experience working in a hospital.

Smiles for Central America (April 2018): A volunteer trip down to Guatemala where we did dental work on kids who needed teeth extracted so they could serve a mission for our church. We also went to a local hospital and helped to hand out blankets and toys to the children there.
Arizona Dental Mission of Mercy (November 2018, November 2021, November 2022): An organization that provides two days, Friday and Saturday, where those who are homeless or cannot afford dental work in downtown Phoenix can come and have different dental work down. I went with my dad who is an oral surgeon and so we would do extractions on those who needed teeth pulled.
