I am employed as a Technical Service Aide in a library, where my primary responsibilities revolve around managing the library's inventory. This includes tasks such as receiving and updating new books in the library system. Additionally, I am responsible for the removal of outdated or unnecessary items, such as old books and compact disks, through a process known as weeding. Another aspect of my role involves repairing damaged books, particularly those with rips. Lastly, I contribute to maintaining an organized library space by arranging books in a systematic order on the shelves.
I volunteer as a secondary school teacher in a refugee camp, instructing in English and Mathematics. Amidst the challenges of COVID-19, I extended my assistance to two primary schools, managing both in-person and online classes. Balancing 18 weekly classes honed my skills in teamwork, dedication, and compassion for students from diverse backgrounds. Discovering children from my own community without homes, I took the initiative to establish a nightly refuge for them within the camp, dedicating two hours every evening to education.
