Examining research papers and reading known works of literature
Throughout highschool I have been in Ap english courses which pushed me to go more in depth on what im reading when it comes to journals, articles, and books. During this time I have enjoyed reading about known psychologists, doctors, geographers and people who are experts in there line of profession and understanding more about what these professionals are trying to argue throughout there research papers as well as spotting out there line of reasoning to help me come up with my own opinions on different journals published. One known literature I specifically loved was Outliers by Malcolm Gladwell, he presents multiple other experts and statistics to help him come up with this hypothesis that the idea of "success" that we as society have created isn't all that true and our level of success cant be measured by how "smart" or "hardworking" we are theres multiple factors; while yes this idea is controversial his conveys countless of evidence and examples to support this hypothesis. When reading it has made me reconsider this societal idea of "success". While I do enjoy reading nonfiction journals and research journals, I still enjoy reading fantasy books and at times I find they do intertwine. In my own Ap seminar essay paper when speaking on my topic I presented multiple specialist to help support my claim but along with that, I presented the novel Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief (a greek mythology fantasy fiction) to help set up context for my thesis. So I would say I just enjoy reading all around and experiencing new ideas while still relating fiction and fantasy books to experts and other novels.
