The DVM360 Practice Manager of The Year Award is a a nationwide honor where one recipient is chose amongst 40-50 nominees.
These nominees are considered "Veterinary Heroes" and are chosen dependent on the meaningful contributions made in the profession and those made in their respective community. I was nominated by my C-Level leaders, operational leaders and peers due to my ability to lead a dynamic team, and achieve operational excellence. I've been presented the opportunity to simultaneously oversee operations at a few of my neighboring Heart + Paw centers on an interim basis, while overseeing my home location.
In 2023, I launched a partnership with W.B Saul School as an opportunity for high school students who are looking to pursue a career in veterinary medicine or Animal Science. My hospital hosted two students for six weeks who had been hand selected by their school through a rigorous application process.
The students have been able to get a glimpse of what we do behind the scenes in general practice veterinary medicine. They’ve had the opportunity to witness spays/neuters, anesthetic dental procedures and physical exams. Students have also shadowed technicians and doctors in exam rooms, set up and perform labs (fecal exams, bloodwork, and rapid tests), and sterilized our surgery equipment.
