I was there when the bariatric surgery division started and we rallied hard to have them placed on our unit. The team was cohesive, when the coordinator was away we took turns teaching pre op classes, etc. When we were preparing the endless data necessary to be a Bariatric Center of Excellence the leadership team came together and we made that happen. We worked very hard to get the staff excited and by the time I left our unit had more CBNs than any in the nation. It was a very rewarding time and I think I'd be a great member of the team!
