Recent graduate from the University of Kentucky, with a Bachelor of Arts in Communications. During my time at the University of Kentucky, I was a four-year student athlete competing at the highest collegiate level. Additionally, I have a versatile professional background in childcare, sports coaching, and emergency management.
Delivered attentive care for two children, aged six and eight, over two months in Florida. As their nanny, I moved twenty hours away from my home and lived with their family for over two months. Being a childcare provider not only taught me how to be patient, reliable, and a role-model towards healthy child development, but it also challenged me to step outside of my comfort zone and learn the importance of independence.
Skills
Facilitated soccer coaching for children aged five to thirteen in three distinct weekly camps. Each week, I guided new campers through skill-building exercises, that emphasized personal growth and collaboration. As a result, I was able to promote an inclusive atmosphere that nurtured enthusiasm and commitment to the sport. Being a camp counselor taught me how to work in diverse settings. Every week presented new individuals that all varied in skill, personality, attitude, and experience. Therefore, this experience taught me how to positively and effectively communicate with players and parents ranging in all ages.
Skills
The past five summers I have worked as a lifeguard. Being a lifeguard not only taught me how to respond to an emergency in a calm and effective manner, but it also taught me the importance of teamwork and communication, situational awareness, quick decision making, and having confidence in authoritative positions
Skills
Shadowed co-owners of Strive, gaining insights into sports psychology operations. During my time with Strive, I participated in biweekly team meetings to understand business dynamics, and the importance of mental health in athletics. I was able to learn from three clinical psychologists, and a clinical psychology doctorate student. Each team member brought different insights and learning opportunities. Therefore, my time with Strive taught me the significance of education through opportunity, the ability to listen, apply, and present new in information, and the chance to learn from experienced professionals.
