• Collaborate with Neonatologist and other ancillary staff to assess patients and deliver appropriate treatment.
• Educate families and caregivers on diagnosis and prognosis, treatment options, disease process and management.
• Train new nurses in proper techniques, care standards, operational procedures and safety protocols.
• Provide direct patient care for neonates 24 weeks and greater gestation, stabilize patients and determine next course of action.
• Care for neonates requiring various respiratory support (i.e HFOV, HFJV, Conventional Vent, NIMV, CPAP, SiPAP, nasal cannula).
• Management of titration drip medication.
• Perform in the charge nurse role, overseeing the workings of a 14+ bed unit, while collaborating with APP, Neonatologist and bedside RN.
• Current ground transport RN.
• Competent in UAC/UVC placement and able to assist with PICC line placement.
