I am currently employed as an adult-gerontological acute care nurse practitioner/family nurse practitioner with LSU Healthcare Network - Pulmonary and Critical Care where I collaborate with my fellow physicians to provide care to patients with acute, chronic, and/or complex medical problems in inpatient and outpatient settings. My responsibilities include, but not limited to, obtaining a detailed history and physical exam; reconciling home medications; reviewing pertinent past medical history; interpreting and evaluating diagnostic tests to identify and assess patient's conditions; referring/consulting specialists, and developing a comprehensive assessment and treatment plan specific to the patient's condition and needs. I also assist in managing the private pulmonary outpatient clinic in regards to hiring and training new employees and physician schedules. My duties also include obtaining prior authorizations from insurance for specialty medications and durable medical equipment and scheduling outpatient procedures. I have performed supervised intubations, central line placements, arterial line placements, and thoracentesis. I am currently trained and utilize EPIC EMR and Paragon EMR. I have built trust and rapport with my patients by listening to their concerns, advocating for their health, and educating on acute and chronic health issues. I am a dedicated team member who effectively communicates with physicians, mid-level providers, nurses, medical assistants, and staff to ensure high quality care is being provided to our patients in a timely manner. I continue to seek out opportunities to expand on my knowledge and skills.

• Provided highly desirable care to patients who have suffered from but not limited to septic shock, multiple organ failure, cardio-pulmonary arrest, respiratory failure, postoperative, trauma, and cerebrovascular accident.
• Assisted in but not limited to intubation, extubation, central line placement, arterial line placement, chest tube placement, vascular catheter placement, bronchoscopy, esophagogastroduodenoscopy, colonoscopy, sternotomy, burr hole procedure.
• Recovered patient's following but not limited to cardiac catheterization, tracheostomy placement, pneumonectomy/lobectomy, colon resections,deep brain stimulators, posterior/anterior lumbar interbody fusion, and ventriculostomy.
• Management of but not limited to ventilators, balloon pumps, Impellas, dialysis machines (sustained low efficiency dialysis/continuous renal replacement therapy), arterial lines, central venous pressure lines, external pacemakers, continuous bladder irrigation systems, and ventricular drains.
• Monitored patient's hemodynamics and adjusted critical care infusions as prescribed.
• Cross-trained in the burn intensive care unit.
• Preceptor to newly hired RNs, student nurses, and interns.

• Completed a total of 1,080 clinical hours in a variety of settings, including urgent care, women's health, pediatrics, primary care, emergency room, and acute care. Can provide detailed clinical experience document upon request.
• Performed physical exams, ordering and evaluating lab test as well as medications.
• Managed patients with acute and chronic conditions such as stroke, heart disease, asthma, diabetes, and COPD.
• Collaborated with a variety of physicians and medical professionals to provide adequate patient-centered care.

• Senior nursing student who met qualifications to be paired with a registered nurse preceptor for a six week summer internship and one shift a month until graduation to develop relationship with the care team, work closely to assist the RN, and to gain insight into how to care for critical care patients and their families.
