Work History

Director of Housekeeping

HHS
03.2022 - Current
  • I started as an Assistant Director of Housekeeping for HHS at Glacier Canyon: Wyndham
  • I currently am the Director and manage over 75 team members
  • The job duties vary on a day-to-day basis
  • Below are several different tasks I face on a daily basis: Implement and develop operational standards, policies, and procedures
  • Develop and implement appropriate plans to resolve unfavorable trends and enhance sales
  • Create weekly schedules based on predicted staffing needs, budgets, and employee requests
  • Lead and direct team members on effective methods, operations, and procedures
  • Address and resolve client or customer inquiries to foster superior standards of service
  • Minimize staff turnover through appropriate selection, orientation, and training.

Coordinator of Young Adult Services

Marion Carnegie Library
06.2017 - 03.2022
  • I started at the library as a circulation clerk, where I put in two years in the YA Department, learning from my superiors
  • Then, I became the Coordinator of Adult Services, where I managed the library's main floor
  • This included supervising all circulation clerks, providing excellent customer service to patrons from various backgrounds, developing our collections, writing board reports, and a plethora of other duties
  • After a couple of months on the main floor, I moved back to the YA Department to become the Coordinator of Young Adult Services
  • The majority of responsibilities remained the same; however, now, I was able to plan, execute, and participate in programs for the youth of our community
  • I managed my floor by ensuring staff members had tasks to complete daily, planned programs, helped fulfill grant stipulations (specifically for Project Next Generation), and, overall, I maintained a well-organized and welcoming department
  • My department was a place teens could come and just be themselves
  • They had the chance to learn, grow, create, and express themselves.

Order Desk Team Leader

Land Gorilla
05.2015 - 04.2017
  • Land Gorilla is a national appraisal management company, where I started as an entry-level employee to send out appraisal orders all over the country
  • My job was to communicate with appraisers and clients to fulfill the appraisal promptly
  • As I put in the time and proved I was a trustworthy employee, I was gradually given more responsibilities
  • I soon rose to Supervisor and Team Leader for the NINA Department
  • This promotion came with new responsibilities: instead of simply being a member who works on assigning orders to appraisers, I was responsible for giving orders to my team members, speaking with clients, answering any questions from team members, leading my team, and making sure everything ran smoothly
  • I managed 3 to 6 members while working alongside other supervisors, upper management, and the company owner
  • I was there for my team members as a leader, a guide, and a friend
  • If my team needed anything, I was there to pass on their concerns or questions to the upper management
  • However, it was also my responsibility to inform upper management of any staffing issues, participate in employee disciplinary meetings, and ensure my team members weren't insubordinate
  • The job was a bit stressful and fast-paced at times, but I could adapt to the situations and make sure what needed to be done was done.

JV Girls Coach

SLO Water Polo Club
05.2015 - 07.2015
  • I had the pleasure of coaching JV Girls Water Polo for SLO Water Polo Club
  • This was my first year coaching water polo, but I have been around sports my whole life and have participated in other coaching roles before
  • This particular team was full of beginners
  • It was my duty to make sure they were informed of how the game worked, but more importantly, it was my job to make sure they fell in love with the sport
  • I had to make sure I had practices figured out beforehand
  • I had to make sure the girls were learning the sport and enjoying what they were learning
  • I had to be in charge but approachable
  • I had to make sure the girls were playing as a team, and when disagreements did arise, I had to step in and be the mediator
  • Coaching has to be one of the most rewarding jobs in the world
  • To see the moment when something finally clicks and to watch them fall in love with the sport was incredibly satisfying.

Front Desk Registrar

HCA
12.2014 - 05.2015
  • I worked as the Front Desk Registrar for Outpatient Registration at Parkridge Medical Center in Chattanooga, Tennessee
  • I was the first impression patients had of registration and the hospital as a whole
  • I managed the front desk and had to do many tasks during the day, such as taking phone calls and answering questions about insurance, billing, and scheduling
  • I was responsible for looking at doctors' orders and familiarizing myself with medical terms
  • I usually ended up having to do several tasks at once, including registering patients, welcoming patients, and answering phone calls while working off of four different computer screens
  • Though it was overwhelming at times, I did my best to remain friendly and serve every patient as an individual
  • However, the hospital would get busy, and patients did get upset, so I had to handle unruly patients and make sure they were aware of what was taking so long and give them a friendly response as to why they had to wait
  • I remained well-organized and stayed on top of things, so patients did not have to wait longer than necessary.

Customer Service

Wal-Mart
05.2013 - 05.2014
  • I started at Wal-Mart as a temporary cashier and became the first employee ever to go from a temporary position to a full-time employee
  • I started as a cashier but was quickly asked to help manage Layaway during the Christmas season
  • After running a successful Layaway, I was promoted to Customer Service and Money Center
  • I also was given the weekend claims job, which was a highly sought-after position
  • During my time at Wal-Mart, I learned many things, including bettering my customer service skills, handling large sums of money, and working in high-pressure situations when the store was busy or certain jobs needed to be done promptly
  • I always made sure to keep my workplace clean and organized.
